Guest: Beau Daane, Sustainability Professional
Episode 1
Introducing Venture Forward Together — an interview series with friends and colleagues working in the sustainability and social impact fields. We are reconnecting with our network and highlighting the great work happening in social impact and business. Thank you for listening. We hope you enjoy it!
In our first episode, we chat with Beau Daane, a long time friend. Victoria has known Beau since 2006 when they met through Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (e4s). He is a Cleveland native and avid gardener. Beau has been a sustainability professional for many years and is currently working on ESG opportunities for Norwegian Cruise Lines, which eliminated plastic water bottles and straws on ships in an effort to reduce its single-use waste.
Beau shares with us the 5 Ps that guide his work:
-
People
-
Planet
-
Prosperity
-
Passion
-
Purpose
We discuss the trifecta necessary for the success of any sustainability initiative in a company — connecting with others who share the same energy and passion, the support of senior management, and making the business case. Beau highlights some trends he sees in sustainability and why more businesses and investors are moving in those directions.
In every interview, we’ll be asking similar questions about inspiration and restoration to share ideas and resources with you.
Books that inspire Beau:
